Many factors have been identified that, whilst they do not cause anti-social behaviour, do increase a person’s risk of it happening, these include issues where there is a lack of involvement from parents, school and the communities.
Dr. Phil McGraw has a saying “There are are no problem kids, only problem parents”, however we cannot use that as a cop out to justify our bad behaviours. As we grow up, we need to become more aware of the choices we make and take responsibility for changing in order to make life better. Many people have succeeded against all odds, making the best of a bad situation.
In this chapter we will discuss various values which you can and apply to your life. When you are faced with any decision, you simply refer back to your values and see what a person who lives the values you are striving for, would do in your situation.
