We will start with some skin-care pointers:
By the age of 16 you should be using a skin-care range that compliments your skin type. Many teenage girls have problem skin what with all the hormone fluctuations. It is only natural, do not obsess about it. More importantly, do not squeeze pimples as it just makes things worse and scars are sometimes permanent.
Be sure to use a skin-care program especially formulated for young skin. Upon waking up, unless you went to bed with make-up, you only need to use some lukewarm water. You should use the skin-care programme after gym and before you go to bed.
Always remove your make-up before bed and use a special spot-cream for young skin.
On the note of make-up, the key is ‘less is more’. If you take good care of your skin, you only need a light layer of brown mascara and a smudge of lip-gloss. The idea is to enhance your natural beauty, not the turn yourself into someone else.
You may be tempted to cover up with foundation and concealer, but do not give in to this habit. It simply blocks your pores more and will cause more pimples and blackheads.
Always use sunscreen on your face and your whole body. From age 25 up, you should start using an anti-ageing cream.
